What is the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)?

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a points-based system used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to assess and rank candidates in the Express Entry pool. Your CRS score determines your rank among all candidates and influences your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.

Merit-Based System

CRS ranks candidates based on skills, education, language ability, work experience, and other factors that contribute to economic success in Canada.

Dynamic Scoring

Your CRS score can change based on improvements in language skills, additional education, work experience, or obtaining a provincial nomination.

Global Competition

Candidates from around the world compete in the same pool, with the highest-scoring candidates receiving ITAs in regular draws.
